Choose Your Perk

Before every Hunt begins, Hunters must make a key strategic choice. You may select a Perk to shape how the expedition unfolds. Each Perk offers a unique advantage: more loot, better allies or faster progression.
Over time, your chosen Perks will level up and evolve, unlocking new ranks and expanding their benefits as you continue to use them across Hunts.
Perk Options
Item Cache
The Item Cache perk loads your Hunt with a head start: a stash of items hidden away by a generous (or forgetful) adventurer. The higher your Item Cache rank, the better your odds of finding valuable consumables, weapons and equipment.
Early ranks grant modest finds, while advanced levels unlock higher drop rates for rare gear and more consistent item quality.
Recruit Select
The Recruit Select perk improves the quality and number of Recruits that you can choose from to accompany you into battle when your squad isn’t full. As your perk rank increases, you’ll gain access to additional Recruits and a higher probability of rare units with advanced classes.
Low-rank perks fill your party with hopeful amateurs; higher ranks bring in seasoned legends (the kind that might actually survive a Hunt).
Some call it luck, others call it networking. Either way, it’s good to have friends in dangerous places.
Bonus XP
Hunters learn best through experience and the Bonus XP perk ensures they learn faster. Each rank increases the Battle XP earned by your squad, accelerating class progression, skill unlocks and stat growth. Struggling with low-Stamina units? The Bonus XP perk helps even the odds.
As this perk climbs in rank, your Hunters grow better, faster, stronger. Because in the Wildlands, that which doesn't kill you might maim you forever (or until you get to the Inn or a Healing Spring).
Faenoran scholars call it “accelerated tactical learning”. Moochkin calls it “XP juice”. Don’t ask what’s in it. It might honestly just be a placebo...but if it works?
Perk Progression
Every time you use a Perk, you earn 1 Perk Point (PP) for that specific perk. Accumulating enough PP increases that perk’s Rank. That improves its effects and may unlock new benefits.
Each Perk can be leveled from Rank 1 to Rank 10, with each rank requiring progressively more PP to reach the next level.
Below is a breakdown of how progression scales across all three perks:

Why Perk Progression Matters
Your Perk choices influence your entire Hunt cycle — and your progression beyond it.
Newer Hunters might focus on Recruit Select to fill squads and learn formations.
Treasure Hunters will find Item Cache invaluable for gearing up faster or securing that perfect piece (or equipment skill) to add to the collection.
Optimizers and grinders can’t go wrong with Bonus XP for faster rank progression and stronger squads long-term.
Perks evolve with your playstyle. Every Hunt refines your strategy.
“The Hunt gives, the Hunt takes… but mostly it gives to those who level their perks.” – ??? We actually don't know who this guy is or how he got in this game guide.
