Choose Your Path

Every Hunt in the Wildlands is a crossroads. Literally. (But actually literally, not the literally that actually means figuratively because it's been misused so often it became linguistically "correct".) At each round, you’ll face a decision that can determine your squad’s fate: which path will you take?
The Choose Your Path screen is where strategy meets intuition. Here, you can:
Access the Squad Formation screen to adjust your lineup before moving on.
Abandon the Hunt if your squad is battered, broke, or emotionally compromised.
Or choose your path forward, selecting from one of three distinct routes.
Each path carries its own risks, rewards and level of regret.
Path Encounters Overview
Every path in the Wildlands hides its own flavor of chaos - from honest battles to suspicious bargains to the occasional unguarded treasure (revealing your inner greed - the fiercest monster of all).
Use this quick reference before taking your next very questionable turn.

Description
Monster Battle
Moderate XP, potions, low-ranked equipment
Your standard skirmish against monsters and lesser foes. Tactical turn-based combat at its finest (or deadliest). Don’t get comfortable; they won’t.
Elite Beast Battle
Significant XP, potions, high-ranked equipment
Bigger monsters, bigger rewards, bigger regrets. Survive and you’ll walk away richer and wiser. Mostly richer.
Netherspawn Battle
High XP, nethershards (plus existential dread)
Corruption made flesh (and teeth - do they have teeth?). Victory is possible. Sanity, less so. If the path glows red, you may already be dead.
Merchant
Potions, equipment (purchasable with Fen)
Browse away - the Merchant’s inventory changes constantly. Great for stocking up or catching your breath between disasters.
Treasure
Potions, high-ranked equipment
Fortune favors the bold (and the suspiciously lucky). These chests don’t bite. Yet.
Healing Spring
Restores HP or revives one unit
A fleeting sanctuary. Drink deep, breathe easy and pretend this peace will last.
Dojo
Class Promotion
Promote some units and maybe learn humility. The sensei only charges for Mercenary promotions. How rude.
Left Path: Predictable Danger
The left path is the more straightforward option and by “straightforward”, we mean always dangerous.
When revealed, the path will display whether you’ll face monsters - or something far worse.
Monsters: 95% chance. Your standard “we can probably survive this” fight.
Netherspawn: 5% chance. Easily recognizable by the spreading corruption along the path. Approach with caution, bravery or ignorance.
If the path glows with a sickly red aura, you already know what’s waiting. Don't forget the words of mother: "Don't you play with netherspawn again, remember what happened last time?".
Middle Path: Calculated Chaos
The middle path offers balance. A mix of risk and opportunity. It’s where tacticians look first to plan their next move.
When revealed, the middle path displays one of the following outcomes:

Chance
Elite Beast Battle
40%
Merchant
25%
Healing Spring
20%
Treasure
10%
Dojo
5%
This path tends to reward strategic players who can make the most of whatever prizes or perils are revealed.
Right Path: The Unknown
For those who crave mystery (or have poor impulse control), the right path holds secrets and surprises.
Unlike the other two, the right path doesn’t reveal what lies ahead until after you commit. It’s a gamble that can lead to fortune, ruin or an unexpectedly heartfelt eulogy.

The right path is where legends are made (and sometimes immediately unmade).
“Always take the path less traveled. It’s usually less crowded with witnesses.” – ?? He actually left before we caught his name.
Strategy in the Crossroads
The Left Path favors reliability. Good for steady progress.
The Middle Path may be your punishment or salvation, but at least you have advance notice either way.
The Right Path? That’s for thrill-seekers, leaderboard chasers and anyone who believes luck is a strategy.
Whichever you choose, remember: in Faenora, every path eventually leads to something trying to kill you. The fun is finding out how creatively it does so.
