Netherbeasts
The Netherbeasts are the apex predators of the Wildlands. Monstrous creatures twisted by the corruption seeping from the Netherrealm. Once majestic (with more reclusive tendencies), they are now living conduits of decay and rage. It is believed that by defeating these corrupted titans, Hunters can weaken the Nether’s hold on Faenora itself.
Be wary: Netherbeasts are the reason most Hunts end in tactical retreat or painful defeat.
The Hunt for Corruption
Netherbeasts appear as milestone encounters during your Hunt, emerging at Rounds 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 51.
Each one is stronger, more unpredictable and vastly more likely to remind you that bravery and survival are not always the same thing.
Victory against a Netherbeast rewards Nethertalons: rare crystalline remnants of Nether corruption that serve as the primary key to Hunt rewards. These are the marks of true Hunters, recorded on the Leaderboard for all to envy (or question your sanity).
Nethertalons
Nethertalons are the "currency of courage" for those swayed by motivational language. In truth, they are proof that you faced something enormous and somehow lived to brag about it.
Nethertalons are only earned from Netherbeast battles.
You earn Nethertalons based on the number and type of Hunters who survive the encounter.
Nethertalons affect your positioning on the Leaderboard and determine how much $MCHY you will receive from the Hunt Rewards.
After a special training seminar put on by Moochkin and Dave, Villagers earn the same number of Nethertalons as Mercenaries and Heroes. But they are much more susceptible to dying. I saw a Villager throw a rock at a Behemoth. Seriously.
